Anthropomachy’s Official Release

After more than two years of work and almost six months of Early Access , it’s finally time to announce that Anthropomachy is now officially released on Steam!!

The first thing we would like to do is thank everyone who supported us during the early access period and sent us their feedback, which allowed us to make the game even better. For those who bought, played and contacted us to demonstrate how much you’ve enjoyed it: THANK YOU SO MUCH! We can’t begin to describe how much it means to us that people actually like our game and care enough to let us know about it. We hope you enjoy this final version we’ve worked so hard to deliver. Also, we would like to thank everyone who visited our booth at Brasil Game Show 2019. Many are still in contact with us today, giving their ideas and thoughts on how to make the game better. You’re the best and we don’t know if we can ever repay you. <3

Yep, that’s how Anthropomachy started: a bunch of crazy ideas from a dream written down on my Winnie the Pooh sheets.

What’s new?

Now, let’s talk about Anthropomachy’s final version! We’ve made some improvements and added some elements to make the gameplay more interesting and challenging. Here’s what we’ve changed since the 0.40 update:

  • 8 new Major Gods;
  • New religious presence and country receptivity mechanic;
  • Keyboard (WASD) navigation;
  • Included information of ability traits on the details screen;
  • Increased trait upgrades to 10% (was 5%);
  • Included Loading messages;
  • Decreased preacher cost to 200 faith (was 250);
  • Added many new events related to the 8 new Major Gods;
  • Fixed UI placement in smaller resolutions;
  • Fixed bug that allowed the purchase of powers from more than one secondary god;
  • Fixed bug that froze gameplay if multiple UI windows appeared during the same frame;
  • Fixed bug that reduced the number of available preachers if loading the skill tree with a temple selected;
  • Fixed typos in certain events and news (let us know if you found any errors!)
  • Fixed news bug that didn’t allow the camera travel to Libya on click;
  • Fixed value on certain event special options;
  • Fixed bug that froze the game when calling end game from an event error;
  • General balancing improvements – the game is now much more challenging and balanced.

Is that anything else to be added in the future?

Yep. You should know that the work isn’t done with Anthropomachy. We still plan to add more content to the game and will, obviously, still fix any remaining bug you guys might find.
One of the first things we’re going to add is more events and news. Some updates on the country’s attributes might occur soon (to replicate recent events that went on IRL) as well.

Thank you, thank you, thank you…

Once again, many thanks for those who have been following us since 2017, when Anthropomachy was just an idea and a bunch of screenshots of what it could become in our blog; for those who kept commenting, liking and sharing us on social media; for those who bought the game; for those who left us a positive review on Steam and helped us to have a bigger visibility; for those who sent us their feedback showing that they cared enough to take their time and try to make Anthropomachy better; for those who visited us on BGS 2019 (yes, you deserve many many thanks); and finally, for me and Ivan for never giving up on this dream that is Toy Box Lab and its first step that is Anthropomachy. We faced all sorts of problems while developing this game, from lack of funding, to finding the right people to help us, to not having time to do proper marketing, but you know what? Every problem and every setback was (absolutely) worth it!

Please keep up following us on Social Media: we are on Twitter, Reddit, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube. is just the first step in this journey and many more awesome games still lie in the future.

See you all soon!
